Timbuck2 Blitz Backpack Overview
For those looking for a decent single travel bag that could provide you with a lot of space and is cost efficient, then the Timbuk2 Blitz Backpack could be for you.
This bag is not only a backpack, but could also act as duffle bag as well if that’s something you might be interested in.
It’s a 28L backpack, so it will provide you with the space you need for a 3-7 day trip if you know how to pack.
I usually pack all my stuff in one of the NOMATIC Vacuum Bags to make things fit in quite easier, so that’s something to really consider if you want to make the best of your space.
Enough of the small talk and lets get into the good stuff!
When it comes to the build of the Blitz Backpack, it is pretty well designed and built with great quality, but it’s nothing as strong as the GORUCK GR1 backpack.
The Blitz does have a pretty tough build to it, but I’m not sure it will not last you as long as some of the other travel bags out there.
It does have YKK zippers all around, so at least you don’t have to worry about zippers falling off while on the move.
Overall, it is pretty tough, but again, it’s not as strong as some of the other travel bags I experienced before.
Ok, so now when it comes to the capacity of the Blitz Backpack, it is pretty spacious and will give you the space you need to last you on a 3-7 day trip.
The bag does offer a separate shoe compartment, but be mindful if you do put shoes in the compartment, it takes up some of the space in the main compartment cutting down your overall space.
You will fit a lot of stuff in this backpack though so that’s something great about this bag!
Organization is pretty simple here with this bag, it has a separate laptop pocket that will allow you fit up to a 15 inch laptop, but the padding for the laptop is pretty thin and I feel it doesn’t give it the maximum protection.
Other than that, there’s a separate shoe compartment as I mentioned earlier, a quick access pocket, and a mesh pocket you could find on the inside of the main compartment.
Nothing too fancy, but it will give you what you need.
Now this is where the bag kind of lets me down, it’s not as comfortable as other travel bags I’ve used in the past.
First of all, the back padding on this bag is pretty thin and has no airway flow through the back panel which makes you sweat fairly quickly.
Another thing I found to be a bummer was the shoulder straps weren’t to comfortable as well, and the sternum strap has no blockage so it just slides down, which becomes pretty annoying after a while.
Not the most comfortable bag on the market, especially when it’s all packed out for a trip.
Look & Feel
To be honest, I feel this bag looks great and it’s my style!
I like the all blacked out look and the fact that you could use it as a duffle if you get tired carrying it on your back.
If this is your type of look, then this bag could be for you if you don’t mind some of the flaws I mentioned.
My Overall Take
Overall, I like the Blitz Backpack, but it’s not one that I really enjoyed taking with me on trips.
Both great bags and honestly some of my most favorites!
